We'll see. Haha. Anyway, currently, I'm working on getting 12 consecutive caching days, or "the 12 days of caching Christmas". I'm on day 10. I've been going out every day usually joined by Caching Scout, and geode23. A few days ago, I found my 700th find, which was good. Heading out to do a bit in an hour or so. Maybe I'll post some photos later.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987991077393467271.post-83490301034835497732009-01-18T12:10:00.000-08:002009-01-18T12:11:50.314-08:00Got out to do some caching.Just got back from doing some caches. Caching Scout and I found six caches. Beautiful day out today. +7c outside and the sun was shining. Perfect for caching.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987991077393467271.post-30828044718298309862008-07-22T09:04:00.000-07:002008-07-22T09:07:21.399-07:00Finally got out cachingWoohoo, finally got out to some caches this past weekend with a friend of mine. We had a little stroll around a park, picking up three traditionals, and then did a short two part multi. My caching urge has been satisfied for a short while. :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987991077393467271.post-33325704433057583502008-07-18T15:38:00.000-07:002008-07-22T09:04:52.805-07:00camoed matchstick containerI made this cache a while back. It is a regular matchstick container onto which I glued a lot of dirt, leaves, pine needles and spruce needles. I gathered this stuff from the cache location, and brought it home. To make it, I basically spray painted it brown as a base, and then covered it with glue. I used <a href="http://www.avalonoffice.ca/catalogue/index.php?cPath=1200001_1400020_1500002_1600128_2525774&osCsid=b7347c5092ae9cb339a5773000a6af7c">LePage Stik and Seal waterproof adhesive</a>, (which I found at Canadian Tire), and it seems to be holding up quite well. Then I just grabbed the leaves etc and pushed them into the glue. I did a couple coats of that and poured a bunch of dirt on as well, and I don't think it looks too bad!<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIi_ryr291E_z3rd18lsLpcN9IYL7J0IR_Zwsz7Ti7x-zm2XHlLNU9ZkexMiLtZ3blBJVBWWThCwUq-ZZT9r17I8EXwnVRFxYd1-a9hfMVPhFkSJ6q424v3efnhIVCnya4tYet21XbTY-T/s1600-h/IMG_5455.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiIi_ryr291E_z3rd18lsLpcN9IYL7J0IR_Zwsz7Ti7x-zm2XHlLNU9ZkexMiLtZ3blBJVBWWThCwUq-ZZT9r17I8EXwnVRFxYd1-a9hfMVPhFkSJ6q424v3efnhIVCnya4tYet21XbTY-T/s400/IMG_5455.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5224487252613229986" border="0"></a>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987991077393467271.post-59960105729523678052008-07-17T08:47:00.001-07:002008-07-17T08:48:35.794-07:00Bleh.*sigh* Its been so long since I've been caching. Maybe one of your outdoor friends have mentioned it in passing. Or maybe you just found this blog and wondered what the heck geocaching is. Here is the answer.<br /><br />In short, geocaching is a high tech treasure hunt. It involves a geocacher hiding a container somewhere on public property and marking the exact longitude and latitude using a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPS_receiver">GPS receiver</a>. After the placer publishes the cache on <a href="http://geocaching.com">geocaching.com</a>, other people can go and find it, using their own GPS receivers, (GPSr). At a bare minimum, the cache will contain a logbook and usually a pencil. When found by a geocacher, they will sign the logbook and put the cache back in the same spot for the next finder. You can find more about this great fun activity <a href="http://www.geocaching.com/faq/">here</a>.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987991077393467271.post-64603686733216741122008-01-27T15:29:00.000-08:002008-01-27T15:34:31.001-08:00Cache #400w00t! I just found my 400th cache. It was a pretty neat cache to hit a milestone on, as it was the first cache in Alberta and the second in Canada. The waypoint number is <a href="http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=6dcb018e-527f-4e40-829d-d26f4e836955">GCA6</a> if you want to look it up (you need an account with <a href="http://www.geocaching.com/">geocaching.com</a>).Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987991077393467271.post-49507157568128122112008-01-23T21:44:00.000-08:002008-01-23T21:46:15.671-08:00Coming soon...Coming soon, an entry about essential FREE software for every geocacher. If you are just starting out and need some free programs, or are an experienced cacher already, we'll discuss all the great freeware that is out there!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4987991077393467271.post-3086493941919684742008-01-23T17:34:00.001-08:002008-01-23T21:39:54.240-08:00How to camo ammo cans<div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left;">Here is how I camouflage ammo cans. It is quite easy and can be done by spending relatively little money. For paints, I use Krylon Camouflage. <a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv-MuEdSKXof28J9hyphenhyphenwrIdPAzuWlzjlz19lg1C-VWEakWbVYOs2OWKw-B_vsUC_F3LN6wntgKknzdPA2nTiP5-XaUIJUpmzRZzfJWVSSLqBe1FdigoG9pDGAOYktoHd82t2-HtqNdACH0q/s1600-h/IMG_4189.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv-MuEdSKXof28J9hyphenhyphenwrIdPAzuWlzjlz19lg1C-VWEakWbVYOs2OWKw-B_vsUC_F3LN6wntgKknzdPA2nTiP5-XaUIJUpmzRZzfJWVSSLqBe1FdigoG9pDGAOYktoHd82t2-HtqNdACH0q/s400/IMG_4189.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5158912576051111506" border="0" /></a>It is nice and dull and isn't too expensive. It comes in four colours, but we're just going to use brown and black and the ammo cans are already green. Depending on where you live, you might want to use different colours. If you just use regular gloss paint, it is bright and shiny.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2xESLyKz3gGlkYpg0NWLtLxQXO84PPHws6Jeeur5n6L1cRCG1nNb48NlJPEZ8MW1a4qUuwI5_UvRBdkNo_puycdlPv8w4Ig79CLHRhzgC-CtoyGoYo1WHb6zlR_spQHDCDH8b3px3nJF_/s1600-h/IMG_4181.JPG"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2xESLyKz3gGlkYpg0NWLtLxQXO84PPHws6Jeeur5n6L1cRCG1nNb48NlJPEZ8MW1a4qUuwI5_UvRBdkNo_puycdlPv8w4Ig79CLHRhzgC-CtoyGoYo1WHb6zlR_spQHDCDH8b3px3nJF_/s400/IMG_4181.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5158851243918124546" border="0" /></a></div>It doesn't look too bad, but it doesn't do much if you are actually trying to hide your cache better.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.diamondsourceva.com/ShoppingAdvice/images/caution-sign2.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 123px; height: 148px;" src="http://www.diamondsourceva.com/ShoppingAdvice/images/caution-sign2.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:130%;"><span style="color: rgb(255, 0, 0);"><span style="font-family:arial;">Remember to use spray paint in a well ventilated area!!!
